Esplanade Hotel Fremantle is located in the heart of Fremantle, with 300 well appointed guest rooms and suites, most with private balconies, all with a desk, mini bar, IDD and STD dialing, colour TV, iron and ironing board and individually controlled air-conditioning.
The three self-contained cottages are situated in the grounds of the old Fremantle Prison and were built from stone quarried on site by the convicts in 1857, to be used as accommodation for the wardens of the prison. In 1994 the cottages were completely stripped back to their original condition, and renovated in such a way that preserved their colonial features. For instance, paintwork and stencilling were reproduced as exact copies of the original work, and clear plastic covers have been placed over the original features, with plaques detailing the history of these to clients.
