Albany has the distinction of being the first European settlement in
Western Australia in 1826 ( the Swan Colony Later named Perth was not
found until 1829) Major Edmund lockyer and a party of soldiers and
convicts arrive from Sydney to set up a outpost to protect the area for
British interests and stop any other country from claiming western
Australia known in them days as New Holland .

| The Town of Kalbarri is 6hrs from Perth it`s located at the mouth of the Murchison River, with the back drop of the Indian Ocean and the Zuytdorp cliffs. The Zuytdorp Cliffs are Famous for many shipwreck`s.Kalbarri has plenty of activities like Fishing ,Hiking ,whale watching. In the Kalbarri National Park you can see spectacular Wildflower displays in late June to the end of November. The town was Gazetted in the early 50`s population is around 2000 many in the crayfishing & Tourist Industry. |
